A Message from Our CEO

"The mission of Whole Youth Whole Lives (WYWL) is more than a program;

it is a sacred trust."

We stand at a pivotal moment in our history, building upon the profound legacy of our founder, Rennell Woods. Rennell taught us that to truly change a life, we must provide "direction, not correction". We are here to ensure that his vision—that every child has a fair shot at a successful life—remains a reality.

My personal journey, having attended 13 different schools, taught me a difficult truth: education is ineffective without true "understanding". You cannot mentor a child who is hungry, and you cannot expect a child to thrive without a stable environment.

"We are not just moving—we are moving with purpose. We are here to turn a childhood of hardship into a lifetime of leadership."

Honoring Rennell Woods

Rennell Woods

The Turning Point (2002)

Rennell Woods, an Arkansas State University graduate and standout athlete, was pursuing his NFL dream when T.D. Jakes challenged him: "Are you still a boy trying to play with your childhood toys?"

Rennell realized the NFL was the "toy"—the platform he wanted, but not the purpose he needed. His true dream was to provide the light for young men and women in Northeast Arkansas who didn't have the opportunities he had.

The Birth of Whole Youth Services (2013)

Rennell returned home to Jonesboro with a new mission. He began by volunteering at Arkansas State University, developing a life-skills curriculum for students. In 2013, he formally incorporated Whole Youth Services Inc.

He believed in the "Whole" child. Under his leadership, the organization grew into a vital lifeline for Northeast Arkansas, serving over 100,000 meals annually and providing the "direction, not correction" that steered countless students toward high school graduation.

In Loving Memory

"Direction, Not Correction"

Rennell Woods dedicated his life to ensuring that every child in the Arkansas Delta had a fair shot at success. His vision, passion, and unwavering commitment to youth continues to inspire our work every day. Though he is gone, his legacy lives on through every meal served, every mentorship given, and every life transformed by Whole Youth Whole Lives.

His dream lives on. The work continues.

The New Chapter: Led by William Cash

Following the passing of our founder, the mantle of leadership was accepted by William Cash. With more than 29 years of executive leadership and operational excellence, William Cash brings a visionary approach to our mission.

Under his guidance, the organization has evolved into its flagship initiative: From the Kitchen to the Couch, to the Classroom (FKC²)—a holistic response to generational poverty and opportunity gaps.

The FKC² Method is the operational engine of Whole Youth Whole Life. It is a holistic, virtual family-support and learning program designed to remove the barriers of generational poverty by stabilizing the home environment so the child can succeed in school.
